Internationally acclaimed jazz pianist Robert Mitchell has toured to over 40 countries and has been a Steinway Artist since 2009.
He has released 16 albums and 2 EPs of his own projects, 4 books, and participated in over 100 projects as a sideman,
He has a growing reputation as an inspirational educator and producer and since 2022 has been a professor in the jazz department at the
Guildhall School of Music.
These days his primary focus includes his new power trio Little Black Book, improv trio The Flame, his collaboration with cellist Shirley Smart. pianist and vocalist Ashley Henry and dancer Masumi Endo.
He has released two recordings of collections of poetry.
In 2014 his first large scale work, Invocation, was successfully performed by the Grammy winning Bournemouth Symphony Chorus.

After establishing himself as an accomplished musician on his native Cuban soil, Omar moved to England in 1997. He has since performed in Europe, the Middle and Far East, the USA and Africa.
Having maintained close links with traditional Cuban music, classical genres and jazz, his latest album ‘Best Foot Forward’, released in 2016, is rich with energy, colour, creative arrangements and originality.
Throughout his career Omar has collaborated with a whole host of other stars; Tito Puente, John Williams, Nigel Kennedy, Courtney Pine and Wynton Marsalis to name a but a few.
