DUO AMIE

Duo Amie, is a cello/piano duo from the United States with an active performing schedule and online presence, dedicated to inspiring and bringing diverse people together with musical programs that capture the imagination through musical expression and visual thematic elements, and to supporting the mission of nonprofits by organizing and performing benefit concerts. Ellyses Kuan, piano, holds a degree in Piano Performance from Eastman School of Music, and was selected to represent Hong Kong at the International Kirishima Music Festival in Japan.  As a soloist and collaborator, she has performed throughout the United States, as well as Toronto, Japan, Hong Kong, and Austria. Ellyses is also enthusiastic about chamber music, organizing house concerts at the Alida House Concert Series, and performing as a partnering artist with Lyra Music Festival, violinist Adrian Anatawan, and with Duo Amie.  She is also the founder and music director of EKS Music School (Quincy, Massachusetts), with a focus on building community, promoting performing arts awareness, and supporting local young musicians. Ellyses has received several awards and recognitions for her teaching and musical contributions, including the Steinway & Sons Top Music Teacher award and the Teacher of the Year award from the Massachusetts Music Teacher Association.

JULIE REIMANN - CELLO ELLYSES KUAN - PIANO

Julie Reimann holds degrees from Curtis Institute of Music and Stanford University, and has performed throughout the United States, Canada, Brazil, and in Europe, and has won a number of competitions, including Gold Medal (New Haven Youth Symphony Young Artists Competition and 1st Prize (Connecticut Chamber Orchestra Young Artists Competition), and has been an invited performer at the Nationale Academie de Violoncelle, Banff Music Festival, Rencontres Musicales d’Evian, Musicorda Music Festival, and Norfolk Chamber Music Festival. As a soloist and collaborator, she is an active performer in various venues in the United States and has performed as a soloist with the Longwood Symphony, Waltham Symphony Orchestra (with whom she also served as Principal Cellist), and the Menotomy Chamber Orchestra, and with the Boston Civic Symphony (as principal cellist), Brockton Symphony Orchestra (as principal cellist), Apollo Ensemble (as principal cellist), National Virtual Medical Orchestra, Boston Music Institute, Lyra Music Festival, and as a member of the Ellipsis Chamber Players, the Eleuthera Trio, and Duo Amie.
